Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all departments to strictly implement the Heat Wave (Loo) Action Plan in light of the Meteorological Department's forecast of above-normal temperatures from April to mid-May. Emphasising preparedness, he has instructed for regular health checkups of workers, particularly those at industrial and construction sites, in coordination with the Health Department.

To combat the effects of extreme heat—such as exhaustion and dehydration—a comprehensive, multi-level strategy has been rolled out involving the Health, Urban Development, Labour, Animal Husbandry, and Rural Development departments. The plan includes regular water sprinkling on roads, provision of shaded areas in parks and workplaces, shelters for animals, and ready availability of essential medicines.

Awareness camps will also be held across the state with the support of the Health Department to educate people about heat-related symptoms and first aid measures. Additionally, monitoring teams will be deployed to ensure the action plan is being effectively implemented on the ground.

The Chief Minister has instructed all concerned departments and District Magistrates to strictly enforce the plan and leave no room for negligence, particularly in running shelters, ensuring water supply, and conducting awareness programs.
