UP Crime News: Minor Rape Victim Dies By Suicide After Video Of Sexual Assault Goes Viral On Social Media

UP News: A 15-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district reportedly died by suicide after a video of her alleged sexual assault by a 22-year-old neighbour went viral on social media. The girl's brother filed a complaint against the accused neighbour and his family. The incident had taken place a few days prior to the girl's death, but she had not spoken about it.

According to reports, the accused's friends shared a video of the assault on social media. In response, the girl, accompanied by her elder sister and brother, confronted the accused at his house. However, they were allegedly attacked by him and his family members.

The police have sent the girl's body for a post-mortem examination. The accused has been booked under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the POCSO Act. Additionally, the accused's family has been booked under sections 325 (assault) and 506 (issuing threats) of the IPC. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

In another incident in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh, the father of a minor rape victim was found dead at his home on Monday. The man's family claimed that he committed suicide as a result of pressure from the local police to make a settlement in the rape case.
