To prevent the rise in road accidents during foggy conditions, the SSP has formed Traffic and Critical Corridor (CC) police teams. These teams are setting up barriers on highways and using loudspeakers to raise awareness among drivers to drive slowly. This is the reason why no major accident has occurred during the fog so far.
Currently, the severity of fog has increased along with the winter. Dense fog has put the brakes on speed as well as normal life. Due to low visibility, the number of accidents on highways and connecting roads has been increasing in recent years. To prevent accidents during fog, the police's Traffic and CC teams are raising awareness among vehicle drivers at night using loudspeakers.
The police are advising people to drive slowly in the fog and not to drive under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, the CC team is urging drivers not to drive with hazard lights (all four indicatorsor dippers) turned on while moving. This is because it creates confusion for the vehicle behind regarding turning.

In fog, keep vehicle headlights yellow instead of white and always keep the lights on low-beam, because high-beams scatter light in the fog, making it more difficult to see ahead. If the vehicle breaks down, park it on the roadside, turn on the hazard lights and place warning signs.
Keep these things in mind:
- Inform the police control room immediately in case of a road accident on the highway or road.
- Maintain a sufficient distance between vehicles so that you can stay safe if sudden braking occurs.
- Keep music off so that horns of other vehicles can be heard.
- Drive in your lane, avoid overtaking, and use the white strip on the left side of the road as a guide.
- The police Traffic and CC teams are also stopping vehicles to install reflectors. The police team is using loudspeakers to raise awareness among drivers to drive slowly.

Bulandshahr SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh said, "Road accidents often increase on highways and connecting roads during fog. To prevent road accidents, the Traffic Police and CC team are raising awareness among drivers on the highway using loudspeakers, and the impact of this is visible. This is because no major accident has occurred during the fog so far."
