Uttar Pradesh's defence Industrial Corridor is set to bolster national security while also opening new employment avenues. 170 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed, projecting an investment of Rs 30,000 crore across six nodes of the corridor. Land has been allocated to 57 investors. 

Amidst the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions, the Uttar Pradesh defence Industrial Corridor has garnered significant attention. Six nodes are being established in Lucknow, Aligarh, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, and Chitrakoot. So far, Rs 9462.8 crore has been invested in setting up 57 industrial units. In Jhansi, 16 companies have been allotted 531.09 hectares of land, attracting an investment of Rs 4372.81 crore and creating 2,928 jobs.

This node will house enterprises manufacturing explosives, ammunition, and mid-caliber infantry weapons. In Kanpur, five companies have been allocated 210.60 hectares, bringing in Rs 1758 crore in investments. This node will focus on small, medium, and large-scale ammunition, bulletproof jackets, specialised fabrics, and small arms. 

Aligarh has attracted the most companies, with 24 companies allocated 64.001 hectares and a proposed investment of Rs 1921 crore. This node is emerging as a hub for drones, ammunition, counter-drone systems, precision instruments, mechatronics, small arms, and radar manufacturing. 

In Lucknow, 12 companies, including BrahMos Aerospace, have been allocated 117.35 hectares, attracting an investment of Rs 1411 crore. This node will manufacture the world's most powerful supersonic cruise missile, BrahMos, along with other missile systems, ammunition, defence packaging, drones, and small arms.
