In Usrahar, a foolish attempt by friends to beat the cold proved costly. After sitting together and consuming alcohol, the group found themselves struggling with the dropping temperatures. Instead of lighting a standard bonfire, they set a motorcycle on fire and used it to keep warm.
The night passed in a state of intoxication. However, when they sobered up in the morning, a dispute broke out among the friends over the burnt bike. After a long discussion, a compromise was finally reached for Rs 25,000. Neither party filed a formal police complaint.
The Incident
Sarvendra, a resident of Nagla Chatur in the Usrahar police station area, was returning home on Tuesday evening after selling his buffalo. Before he could reach home, he met his friends, Sanju and Lalit. The three decided to party, bought alcohol, and consumed it near a closed house outside the village, close to Nagla Chatur.
Bike Used As Bonfire
As the night progressed, the three began to shiver from the cold. Unable to bear the low temperature, one of Sarvendra's friends pushed his HF Deluxe bike onto a pile of wood lying near the house. They then gathered paddy straw kept on the house, piled it over the bike, set it on fire, and started warming themselves.
When the fire intensified, the three fled to their respective homes. In the morning, when Sarvendra sobered up, he went to the spot and found the bike reduced to ashes. He called his friends Sanju and Lalit, accusing them of forcibly setting the bike on fire.

Settlement Reached
The police were initially informed about the incident. However, the two friends reasoned with Sarvendra, and the matter was settled mutually for Rs 25,000.
Outpost In-charge Hakim Singh stated, "The three are friends who first consumed alcohol and then set the bike on fire to stay warm when they felt cold. They have now mutually settled the matter for Rs 25,000."
