The grant aims to encourage students to engage in sports alongside academics, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy. A purchase committee, chaired by the school principal and comprising the sports in-charge and other teachers, will be constituted at each school to oversee the selection, procurement, and usage of the sports material.

Additionally, a mandatory 30-minute sports period will be introduced in schools. Inter-school competitions will be held under the Fit India and Khelo India initiatives to further enhance participation. The quality of the purchased materials will be verified by committees at the block and district levels, and any irregularities will attract strict action against the responsible officials.
