The Uttar Pradesh government has included the widening and strengthening of roads to five religious sites in the Hastinapur constituency in its 2025-26 action plan under the Dharmarth Yojana (Charitable Scheme). According to Rajeev Kumar, JE, Public Works Department, Meerut, these roads will be constructed for Rs 10.28 crore, for which the Public Works Department has been issued the first instalment of Rs 416.93 lakh. 

Additionally, two more roads will soon be included in the action plan. Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dinesh Khatik, had sent proposals to the government for the widening and strengthening of seven roads leading to five religious sites. Of these, the government has included five projects in the 2025-26 action plan under the Dharmarth Yojana.

This includes the widening and strengthening of: 

-1.4-kilometre road from Latifpur to Kishanpur Gurudwara - Rs 193.91 lakh

-1.2-kilometre road from Akbarpur Garhi to Ashadevi temple - Rs 82.68 lakh

-1.1-kilometre project between Tigri and the old Shiv temple - Rs 116.60 lakh

-4.5-kilometre road to Kanthi Mata temple in Fitkari - Rs 472.97 lakh

-1.30-kilometre road in Manohar Colony, Hastinapur - Rs 161.62 lakh. 

Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dinesh Khatik, had submitted a proposal worth Rs 1392.72 lakh for the widening and strengthening of the approximately 6.755-kilometre road between NH-34 and Rahmapur, Makhenagar, in the Hastinapur constituency. 

A second proposal, at Rs 711.61 crore, was submitted for the widening and strengthening of the approximately 4.1-kilometre road between the Meerut-Pauri Highway and Rani Nangla, Saifpur. Both these projects are currently proposed to the government and are expected to be approved soon.

In the Hastinapur constituency, work on widening three roads is underway as part of the 2024-25 action plan, at a total cost of approximately Rs 1232.59 lakh. This includes the widening of the 0.7-kilometre road from Hastinapur town square to Pandeshwar Shiv temple for Rs 43.26 lakh. 

Work is also in progress on the 1.8-kilometre road from the town to Jambudweep, for Rs 93.36 lakh. Furthermore, the widening of the approximately 8-kilometre road between Hastinapur and Saifpur Karamchandpur and the 6.735-kilometre road between Nangla Chand and Makhdumpur is ongoing at Rs 1095.97 lakh. This work will be completed soon.
