Bahraich News: A government official allegedly dragged the body of a 35-year-old motorcyclist for 30 kilometres following an accident on the Nanpara-Bahraich road, claiming later that he was unaware of the body. The horrifying event took place in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh.
The mutilated body of the rider, Narendra Kumar Haldar, was discovered beneath the car as the vehicle approached the tehsil office, 30 kilometres from the accident site, and the driver was reversing it. The event caused district officials to seek the suspension of the Naib Tehsildar who was driving the government vehicle.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Bahraich district magistrate Monika Rani stated that Naib Tehsildar Shailesh Kumar Awasthi was using the vehicle for official purposes. "It came to notice that a dead body came dragged with the vehicle to the tehsil," she said.
Police were still unsure of the exact sequence of events that led to Haldar's body becoming entangled with the vehicle. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered only a motorcycle and a person's shoes, according to Ramgaon station officer Alok Singh.

Other local police stations were notified of the event after the police squad noticed some marks on the road that suggested a corpse might have been trapped beneath a car. After being eventually found near the Nanpara tehsil, the disfigured body was taken away for an autopsy.
Haldar, 35, lived in Krishna Nagar Colony, which is close to the Payagpur police station. Singh claims that he was on his way home after dropping off his niece in the nearby Lakhimpur Kheri district when he had an accident near Chaupal Sagar, which was allegedly caused by the tehsildar's car.
