Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh has accelerated efforts to integrate the education system with modern technology. A major milestone in this direction is the establishment of a state-of-the-art Atal Command Centre in Lucknow, set up at the office of the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The command centre monitors Atal Residential Schools across all 18 divisions of the state through 360-degree live surveillance.

According to Pooja Yadav, Secretary of the Board and Director General of the Atal Residential Schools Organisation, each school has been equipped with 203 high-tech CCTV cameras installed to create a completely blind-spot-free security system. These cameras enable real-time monitoring of every activity on campus, significantly enhancing transparency and safety.

The command centre also oversees attendance, staff presence, administrative functions, and financial management. A QR code-based attendance system has been introduced to eliminate errors and enforce strict monitoring.

One of the centre’s most advanced features is its Academic Performance Analysis System, which evaluates real-time learning levels. It categorises students as bright, average, or weak and records subject-wise performance, allowing immediate academic intervention and targeted support.

The facility maintains a complete digital profile of all staff members, including qualifications and duty records, and allows officials to conduct online meetings with principals and teachers across the state. This has improved administrative speed and efficiency.

Atal Residential Schools are a key initiative of the Yogi Adityanath government, aimed at providing secure, high-quality residential education to the children of labourers and orphans. The Atal Command Centre is being seen as a national model for education monitoring, with other states showing interest in replicating it.

The government says the project reflects its commitment to ensuring that children from the most deprived backgrounds receive modern, technology-enabled educational services comparable to top private institutions.
