Under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, division-level skill competitions will be mandatorily conducted across all divisions by December 10. The initiative aims to expand local employment and self-employment opportunities by providing skill training to as many youth as possible. A comprehensive database of unemployed youth trained in the past three years will also be created, and these candidates will be given placement opportunities at the employment fairs held in ITIs on the 21st of every month.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare, while reviewing preparations with district coordinators and MIS managers on Monday, warned that any lapse in training quality would lead to the immediate blacklisting of the concerned training institution. He informed that password-protected Set-A and Set-B question papers will be issued from the mission office for the divisional competitions.

After the competitions, the names of the top five candidates in each skill sector, listed in descending order, must be forwarded to the mission office. Participation of all selected candidates at the division level has been made mandatory to ensure they get a fair chance to progress to the state level.

Highlighting the importance of running all ongoing training batches effectively, Khare said that the Zero Poverty campaign is being closely monitored at the Chief Minister’s Office. Under this initiative, efforts are underway to link identified families and women from self-help groups with employment and self-employment through skill training.
