Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during a divisional-level meeting with public representatives, directed officials to prioritise and complete 3,397 proposed development projects worth Rs 42,891 crore across the Lucknow division. The meeting was held on Wednesday at his official residence and included MLAs and MLCs from 42 assembly constituencies of Lucknow, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri.
The CM instructed that all projects should be implemented in a phased manner without delay, and their foundation stone laying ceremonies, scheduled after September 15, must involve local representatives, with their names inscribed on the plaques. He emphasised that quality and impartial monitoring of every project is a top government priority and warned against any negligence.
Proposals discussed included major infrastructure works such as roads, long and short bridges, flyovers, ROBs/RUBs, and charitable roads. CM Yogi stressed that projects like four-laning district headquarters, two-laning block headquarters, sugar mill road upgrades, and black spot rectification must be completed fully.
Special focus is to be given to roads in the villages of public representatives and martyrs, with no “pick and choose” approach allowed. He stated that the government values the ground-level insights of MLAs and MLCs, which help in the meaningful execution of development schemes.
Highlighting the cultural and historical significance of each district, the Chief Minister urged that projects be aligned with local identity. He described Lucknow as the “cultural capital of Awadh,” Hardoi as a land of penance, Raebareli as a literary and freedom struggle hub, and Unnao as the karmabhoomi of freedom fighters like Chandrashekhar Azad. He also praised Sitapur for its spiritual heritage centred on Naimisharanya and Lakhimpur Kheri for its ecological prominence due to Dudhwa National Park.
CM Yogi also directed the Tourism Department to identify and develop at least one tourist site in every assembly constituency. Additionally, he instructed the Urban Development Department to seek the approval and guidance of public representatives before drafting any urban development project proposals.
