UP Housing News: Now the Housing Development Council is going to give a 15 per cent discount to flat buyers on making a lump sum payment. The new rule will be effective across Uttar Prades from Diwali to January 31, 2026. Not only this, a 10 per cent discount will be given on making a lump sum payment within 90 days. Possession can be obtained by paying 50 per cent of the flat price, jagran.com reported. More than 10 thousand flats of the council are vacant across the state including Lucknow.
The 273rd board meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Council was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Planning Department, P Guruprasad. Until now, the council has been offering flat buyers a 5 per cent discount if they make the full payment within 60 days of booking. Now, a 15 per cent discount will be given if the lump sum payment is made within 60 days. A 10 per cent discount will be given if the lump sum payment is made within 90 days.

Additional Housing Commissioner and Secretary Dr Neeraj Shukla stated, "If a buyer deposits 50 per cent of the amount in one lump sum, they will be given immediate possession of the flat. The remaining amount can be paid in installments over 10 years. If the buyer makes a lump sum payment after paying a few installments, they will be given an additional 2 per cent discount on the interest charged on the remaining amount."
It's worth noting that the council has been charging 11.5 per cent interest on the remaining funds; according to the new decision, interest will be charged at 9-9.5 per cent. Housing Commissioner Balkar Singh, Deputy Housing Commissioner Pallavi Mishra, Deputy Housing Commissioner Lucknow Zone Chandan Patel, and others were present at the meeting.

Three Parking Plots To Be Auctioned
The Housing Development Council will soon auction three parking lots, including the Vrindavan Scheme, online. Besides Lucknow, two parking lots are proposed in Ghaziabad and one in Ayodhya. The Deputy Housing Commissioner explained that if the parking lot is 1,000 square meters, 25 per cent of the land can be used commercially. Similarly, the sale of 67 educational plots is being made easier.
