The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is embarking on a global campaign to attract foreign tourists. Their strategy involves showcasing the state's tourism potential at various international travel marts and expos.
The initiative kicks off with the Arabian Travel Mart in Dubai, scheduled from April 28 to May 1. Following this, the department will participate in similar events in Thailand, France, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, Germany, and Russia.
In addition to well-known destinations like Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura, the campaign will also highlight lesser-known sites such as the Swaminarayan Temple in Gonda, the ISKCON Temple in Vrindavan, the Ramakrishna Math in Lucknow, and various rural tourism locations.
The department will set up special pavilions to display key tourism circuits, destinations, and local handicrafts. Meetings with foreign tour operators, travel agents, and potential investors will also be conducted. Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh stated that this effort aims to place Uttar Pradesh prominently on the global tourism map.
Furthermore, the state government has approved several tourism development projects totaling over Rs 87 crore for Mahoba, Barabanki, and Farrukhabad districts, focusing on developing cultural landscapes, temples, and Buddhist sites.
