Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced enhanced benefits for the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme in Uttar Pradesh. The annual income limit for families to be eligible has been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, aiming to include more underprivileged families.

The financial assistance provided under the scheme has also been raised from Rs 51,000 to Rs 1 lakh per couple. Of the total amount, Rs 60,000 will be directly deposited into the bride's bank account. The couple will receive gifts worth Rs 25,000, and Rs15,000 will be allocated for wedding expenses.

These changes are effective immediately. Previously, the plan was to implement the increased Rs 1 lakh assistance from April 1. With the wedding season approaching, the Social Welfare Department had proposed a distribution of Rs. 75,000 to the bride's account, Rs 15,000 for gifts, and Rs 10,000 for wedding expenses.

The Chief Minister revised this proposal to the current distribution. The Chief Minister also reviewed the old-age pension scheme and instructed officials to ensure full coverage of eligible senior citizens. He suggested linking the scheme with the Family ID to streamline the process and ensure timely disbursement of pensions.
