Uttar Pradesh minister OP Rajbhar on Wednesday sparked a row by joking about the Unnao rape victim's protest at Delhi's India Gate. While talking to the reporters, Rajbhar stated that the victim was not unsafe, as the Delhi High Court, while granting bail to the convict and former BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Senger, has directed him to stay five kilometers away from the rape survivor. The victim and her mother have been protesting in the national capital after the court granted Senger a relief. The rape survivor has stated that she will challenge the order in the Supreme Court, adding that the High Court's judgement was "unbelievable".
OP Rajbhar Mocks The Protest
On being asked about the mistreatment of the protestors by the CRPF officials, Rajbhar said that the victim belonged to Uttar Pradesh, and not Delhi, before breaking into laughter. He further stated that the victim's family was not unsafe, as the court has directed Senger to stay at least 5 km away from them.

“The court has said that Kuldeep Singh Sengar must stay at least 5 km away from the victim's family. While protesting in Delhi, the police told the family that if the court has made this arrangement, then how can they be unsafe?” Rajbhar was quoted as saying by ANI.
Victim's Meeting With Rahul Gandhi
Earlier in the evening hours, the victim and her mother met the Congress leaders Rahul and Sonia Gandhi at the latter's residence in Delhi. While talking to the reporters after meeting the top Congress leaders, the victim stated that they have promised to help her in this fight.
"Both of them had tears in their eyes. They assured us that they would help us get justice. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were crying after hearing me. I want to meet the Prime Minister and the President, too. This is the first time in the country that a rape accused is going to be released on bail. This order has weakened the daughters of the country," the rape survivor was quoted as saying by ANI.
