UP News: Fat shamed for her bulging stomach for years, a 41-year-old woman, Baby, was able to overcome a hidden medical condition after a complex surgery to remove a massive 10kg tumour from her stomach. The lady was from Nagla Halu village of UP's Farrukhabad.
For years, Baby was mocked by her neighbors and family, with many believing her obesity was caused by poor eating habits and a lack of exercise. Despite seeking medical attention from multiple places, her illness worsened.
The breakthrough occurred when Baby, Prashant Dinkar's wife, began feeling acute stomach pain. She had been feeling ill for a long time but was reluctant to discuss it. When she finally sought medical attention at Lohia Hospital, a team of specialists led by Dr Rohit Tiwari diagnosed her with a tumour that had spread throughout her stomach.
Following a comprehensive assessment, the medical team decided to undertake surgery, which lasted around two and a half hours. The operation effectively removed the 10 kg tumour that was causing her bloating and suffering. The physician who did the procedure, Dr Rohit Tiwari, noted that the surgery was particularly difficult due to the tumour's size. However, the successful operation provided Baby with a new lease on life, putting an end to years of weight-related taunting.
Dr Tiwari was accompanied by CMS Dr Ashok Priyadarshi, Director Dr Amitabh Chauhan, and OT In-charge Anita in performing the surgery. When Baby awoke after the treatment, she was flooded with emotion, tears of delight marking her recovery. She is now perfectly well and free of the judgment and contempt that she once faced.
