UP News: In another suicide case, an 18-year-old Class 12 student who had topped the city in his high school board exams ended his life by jumping in front of a moving train near Govindpuri railway station, Kanpur, on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Raunak, son of Alok Pathak, a private sector employee living in Saket Nagar. Raunak was the only son of his parents and studied at Braj Kishori Inter College.

Here's What Happened
- According to the family, Raunak left home on his motorcycle early Monday morning without telling anyone. When his parents woke up and did not find the bike, they began searching for him in the neighbourhood and among his friends.
- While looking for their son, the worried parents reached Govindpuri station, where the Government Railway Police (GRP) broke the tragic news to them and showed the body. The deceased’s father identified the victim as his only son, Raunak.
- Alok Pathak told the media that Raunak was a brilliant student who had secured the top position in the city in high school. “We still can’t understand why he took such an extreme step. He never showed any signs of stress,” the grieving father said after his only son committed suicide.
- Monday was the first day of Raunak’s pre-board examinations for Class 12.

- The GRP has registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. Police are investigating the exact reason behind the suicide.
