The recruitment process for 55 vacant pharmacist posts in the Department of Prison Administration and Reform Services remains incomplete, even after nearly nine years. Distressed by this long delay, the selected candidates have now urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to issue their appointment letters.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) invited applications in 2016 for vacant posts in various departments through the Combined Technical Service Examination. This included 55 pharmacist posts for the prison department.

As part of the selection process, the commission followed this timeline:

- Written Examination: February 2023

- Document Verification: April 2024

- Final Selection Result: June 2025

- Medical Exam And Police Verification: August 2025

Despite the completion of these steps, the appointment letters have not yet been issued.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the selected candidates highlighted that it has now been almost nine years since the recruitment process began, causing them to endure "mental and social stress." They have urged the Chief Minister to end their long-standing wait by personally distributing the appointment letters.
