UP Shocker:  A man from Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been admitted to the hospital after he alleged that his ex-girlfriend and her friends beat him up and poisoned him. Shailendra Gupta, a medical representative in Mahoba, was assaulted after he demanded the return of money and jewellery that had been handed to his ex-girlfriend during their four-year live-in relationship, as reported by NDTV.

It has been reported that Gupta became romantically involved with the woman from Kalipahari village after meeting her four years before. During their relationship, he gave her gifts valued at lakhs of rupees, as well as almost Rs 4 lakh in cash and online payments. But later, the couple's relationship worsened and they split up.

The girl moved away from him and started seeing someone else. When Gupta went to their previous rental apartment to get his things and demanded the return of the cash and jewellery, things became heated.
