Haryana Crime News: A local BJP leader was shot dead on camera by his neighbour on Friday night in the Sonipat district over a land dispute. The attacker fired three bullets at Surendra Jawahar, who has been identified as the president of the BJP’s Mundlana Mandal.
The accused was reportedly infuriated over a long-standing property dispute involving the land that Jawahar acquired in the name of the accused's aunt. CCTV footage of the incident showed BJP leader Jawahar, being chased by the attacker into a shop. Jawahar was heard shouting, "Mujhe maar dia (He killed me)," repeatedly, before the accused physically held him and then opened fire at him from extremely close range.
According to police, the BJP leader was warned by the accused not to come to the land; however, when the latter arrived at the location to resolve the issue on Friday night, the accused confronted him and killed him. Notably, Jawahar succumbed to the injuries at the crime spot itself.
