Uttar Pradesh Crime: In a horrific incident that took place in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, an eight-year-old girl, who went out at 7 PM on Tuesday to buy a mosquito coil, was found dead the next day in a sack. Her half-naked body was discovered in a garbage alley at Sujabad Girls' Composite School, located on the outskirts of Ramnagar in Varanasi, near Chandauli. There were injuries and blood on her body, leading to suspicions that she was raped and then murdered.

The incident came to light after CCTV footage showed Irshad, the neighbour of the girl, carrying the body in a sack during the investigation. The victim's family had already raised suspicions about him. Acting on the suspect's name, the SOG and Ramnagar police took quick action and arrested him at nearly 2:30 AM on Thursday from Domri following an encounter. Irshad was shot in the leg during the arrest. Upon questioning, he confessed that after failing to sexually assault the girl, he murdered her by crushing her skull with a stone.

Earlier that morning, around 10 AM, some children went to pick up kites and discovered the girl's body in a plastic sack with her limbs twisted and broken. The incident occurred in Chandauli, though the girl was from Ramnagar. Following the orders of Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, Ramnagar police registered a case and started their investigation. Three individuals, including a shopkeeper, are being questioned.

The forensic team also visited the scene to collect evidence. The police also had to face the anger of the family and villagers, who accused them of negligence. After convincing the family, the police were able to take the body into their custody and send it for post-mortem. The PAC and police have been deployed in the village. Umesh Rai, the person in charge of the Sujabad police outpost, has been suspended.

A further investigation into the matter is underway.
