In a shocking incident on Tuesday evening, a headmaster from Mahmudabad allegedly assaulted the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Akhilesh Pratap Singh, with a belt and broke his mobile phone at the BSA's office. The headmaster also reportedly beat up a clerk who tried to intervene.

Based on a complaint from the BSA, the Nagar Kotwali police have filed a case and taken the accused headmaster into custody.

BSA Akhilesh Pratap Singh stated that he was in his office around 4 pm when Brijendra Kumar Verma, the headmaster of Primary School Nadwa in Mahmudabad, entered and immediately began misbehaving.

"As soon as he entered the office, he took out his belt and started attacking me," the BSA said. "I tried to defend myself and suffered an injury to my hand. During the assault, he snatched my mobile phone and broke it, tore official files and papers on my desk, and also threatened to kill me."

A clerk, Premshankar Maurya, was also assaulted when he came to the BSA's rescue. Police were informed, and the accused was arrested at the scene. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the BSA was taken to the district hospital for a medical examination.

BSA Mistreated Last Year Too

This is not the first time BSA Akhilesh Pratap Singh has faced aggression in his office. On September 3, 2024, Satya Prakash Mishra, a former district president of the Junior High School Teachers' Association, had also misbehaved with and threatened the BSA. A police case was filed in that incident as well, which was reportedly related to a corruption inquiry against Mishra's wife.

Anup Shukla, In-charge, Nagar Kotwali said,"A case has been filed based on the complaint from the Basic Shiksha Adhikari. The accused headmaster has been taken into police custody and is being questioned."
