UP SIR: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh is in its final stage. According to the updated data, the average number of deletions per polling station in the state stands at 179. As the draft rolls are the Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission is now preparing to hand over the finalized voter lists to political parties.
Under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters list in the state, 2.91 crore names out of 15.44 crore voters are expected to be deleted. These include absentee, deceased, transferred, and duplicate voters. The Election Commission will submit this list to the booth-level agents (BLAs) of political parties on Friday, December 12.
4,42,000 BLAs to verify deleted names
There are a total of 1,62,486 polling booths in the state, with 4,42,000 BLAs representing major political parties. These BLAs will get the list of voters whose names are likely to be deleted. The BLOs and BLAs will jointly verify these voters.
So far, records for 76 per cent of voters have been mapped in the 2003 voter list and the process is underway to map the remaining voters.

These lists will also be published on the websites of all District Election Officers to ensure a transparent and quick verification process, ensuring no confusion within political parties.
Not submitted enumeration form yet? Here's how to add names
Those whose names are not in the voter list of the year 2025, and have not received the enumeration form, can become voters by filling Form-6.
Those who have received the enumeration form but could not fill it for some reasons can also become voters by filling Form-6. However, they will have to submit an affidavit along with the form. In such an affidavit, the record of 2003 must be provided.
The young voters who will complete the age of 18 years on January 1, 2026, can also become voters by filling Form-6.
