The enumeration process for the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh has ended as the Election Commission has not extended the deadline. The final draft of the voter lists will be released on December 31.
According to the information, names of over 2.89 lakh crore voters are expected to be struck off from the draft list as they have been placed under the 'uncollectable' category.
Uttar Pradesh has a total of 15.44 crore registered voters. Out of these 2.89 crore voters, about 1.25 crore voters had permanently migrated to other places. These 1.25 crore voters have informed the booth-level officers (BLOs) about their relocation.
Out of the remaining over 1.64 crore voters, around 45.95 lakh have died, while 23.59 lakh voters were found to be duplicates.
Around 9.57 lakh voters have not submitted the enumeration forms. The remaining approximately 84 lakh voters are marked as missing.
Voter list revision in Lucknow
In the state capital, about 12 lakh names are likely to be deleted from the voter list. Lucknow has around 40 lakh voters, and about 70 percent of the enumeration forms have been submitted.
Among the 9 assembly constituencies in the state capital, the highest submission of the enumeration forms was recorded in Malihabad and Mohanlalganj, over 83 per cent each.
Among other constituencies, Bakshi Ka Talab recorded 78 per cent, Lucknow West 70 per cent, Sarojini Nagar 69 per cent, Lucknow Central 65 per cent, Lucknow East 63 per cent, Lucknow North 62 per cent, and Lucknow Cantonment 61 per cent form submission.
After the draft rolls are published on December 31, the phase of making claims and objections will last up to a month till January 30. The final voter list will be published on February 28, 2026.
