The Uttar Pradesh Tax Department has issued an order to audit the turnover of businesses for the financial year 2022-23. For this exercise, 3,000 audit teams will be deployed across the state. Businesses with an annual turnover exceeding Rs 50 crore will be audited first.
According to the order issued by State Tax Commissioner Nitin Bansal, the department’s 20 zones have been divided into three sectors: Sector A and Sector B with eight zones each, and Sector C with four zones. Each zone will have 150 audit teams.

After completing audits of high-turnover businesses, those with lower turnovers will also be investigated. The audit is scheduled to be completed by 30 June 2026. Businesses found with discrepancies will be issued notices, and departmental action will be initiated.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Department will hold a workshop on ‘Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047’ at Yojana Bhawan on Thursday. The state-level workshop aims to chart the roadmap for the development of the tourism sector over the next 22 years. Experts will share insights on global initiatives to boost tourist inflow and promote heritage, eco, and wildlife tourism.
The workshop will be inaugurated by Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh and Chief Minister’s Advisor Awanish Awasthi. Additionally, Vishwa Bhushan, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, will make a special presentation highlighting the growing demand for pilgrimage tourism circuits.
