With an aim to strengthen road safety, enhance transparency, and curb pollution, Uttar Pradesh has expanded its Automated Testing Station (ATS) network to 14 across the state.
The Transport Department has issued final registration certificates for four new ATS in Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur Nagar, and Mirzapur under the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The newly approved centres include AKRS ATS Lucknow, Sharp N India Agra, Air Sales Corporation Kanpur Nagar, and Mamta Hygiene Products Mirzapur.

Automated vehicle fitness facilities are now available in Firozabad, Bijnor, Jhansi, Moradabad, Kanpur Dehat, Varanasi, Bareilly, Fatehpur, Rampur, along the newly added districts. As per the SOP, a maximum of three ATS can be set up in any district.
The ATS facilities ensure fully automated, camera-enabled, and algorithm-based vehicle fitness testing with complete data logging. Officials said this system minimises human error and ensures greater transparency.

Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh stated that the expansion reflects the department’s commitment to prioritising road safety and effective pollution control.
