After providing women free bus travel on Rakshabandhan, the UPTransport Department has now extended another welfare measure by setting up a baby care room for its employees. The facility, inaugurated on Independence Day at the Transport Commissioner’s office, is aimed at helping employees manage office work while ensuring a safe and engaging environment for their children.

Transport Commissioner Brijesh Narayan Singh inaugurated the creche, stating that the productivity of employees increases with welfare-oriented initiatives, and this step marks a positive move in that direction.

Located within the Transport Headquarters, the creche has been designed with a child-friendly setup, equipped with essential resources and trained support staff. Officials said plans are underway to further expand its facilities.

Additional Transport Commissioner (IT) Sunita Verma described the initiative as an important step for the care of newborns and young children of both male and female employees, adding that it would provide them peace of mind and greater convenience at the workplace.

The facility has been introduced following consistent efforts and demands of the Ministerial Service Association. Association President Piyush Srivastava expressed gratitude to the Transport Commissioner for taking swift decisions in the interest of employees. The inauguration was attended by senior officials, association representatives, staff members, and their children.
