UP Weather: According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain will start from Friday in all the districts of the east and west Uttar Pradesh including the capital city Lucknow. Cloudy weather with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is forecast till May 27. The Terai and eastern districts including Lucknow, will witness drizzle accompanied by strong winds. In Banda, Jhansi and surrounding areas of Bundelkhand, heatwave-like conditions will prevail due to hot westerly winds. The maximum temperature in these areas has crossed 45 degrees Celsius. An alert for lightning has been issued for Varanasi, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and surrounding areas.

On Thursday, there was drizzle with thunder and lightning in the Terai areas like Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Lakhimpur.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of the Meteorological Department, on Friday, there will be drizzle along with strong winds and thunderstorms in more than 35 districts of the eastern Terai region. During this time, warnings have been issued for thunderstorms and winds at a speed of 50 km per hour in many districts.
The Meteorological Department has stated that for the next four days, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the state may fall by up to four degrees Celsius, bringing much needed relief for the residents.
According to the Meteorological Department, the day temperature of Banda and Jhansi was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day. Heatwave-like conditions prevailed in these districts. However, there is a possibility of rain in these areas as well.
