UP Weather Update: Uttar Pradesh is reeling under intense heat, with temperatures soaring across the state. On Thursday, the maximum temperature peaked at a sweltering 43.6 degrees Celcius- the highest recorded so far this season. This matches the earlier peak recorded in April, indicating a persistent heatwave pattern.

Agra ranks as the third hottest city in the state, battling relentless high temperatures. The mercury has remained above 41 degrees Celsius for two consecutive days, and meteorologists warn that the heatwave will increase in coming days. Over the next 48 hours, temperatures may rise by another 2 degrees, further worsening conditions.

The onset of extreme heat began in mid-April, with the temperature reaching 40 degrees Celcius on April 14. It continued to rise steadily, hovering around 42 degrees Celsisu from April 17 to 19. On April 24, the temperature touched 43 degrees Celcius, and by April 25, it peaked at 43.6 degrees Celcius. The intense heat caused significant discomfort to residents.

A brief respite came with a sudden western disturbance that temporarily lowered temperatures. However, the heat has returned with force. Over the past three days, temperatures have been climbing steadily, with a sharp 2 degrees increase recorded between Wednesday and Thursday.

The weather department has cautioned that the rising trend is expected to continue, and no immediate relief is in sight. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this ongoing heatwave.
