UP Weather Update: The mercury has crossed 45 degrees Celsius in the Bundelkhand region. 24 districts have recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Heatwaves are still prevailing in the southern part of Uttar Pradesh. As per IMD, there will be no relief from the heat for at least three days. Lucknow and surrounding districts will continue to swelter under scorching heat.
Meteorologist Dr Atul Kumar Singh informed that the heat is increasing due to the dry weather. As per Dr Singh, the weather in the state will remain mainly dry in the next 24 hours. Due to the effect of hot westerly winds blowing in the southern regions of the state, a high category orange alert has been issued for heatwaves in western Uttar Pradesh till June 10. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for eastern Uttar Pradesh. During this time, there is a possibility of humid conditions in other parts of the state as well due to temperature being higher than normal.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in the state was 45.9 degrees Celsius in Agra and Jhansi. Due to this, both the districts and the nearby areas were hit by heatwaves. Heatwave conditions also prevailed in Kanpur Dehat. The maximum temperature there was 44.4 degrees Celsius. A slight increase was also recorded in the maximum temperature of Lucknow. On Sunday, the temperature here was 41.4 degrees Celsius, while on Monday it reached 42 degrees Celsius.

Dr Singh said that there are chances of rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh from June 11. This can cause a drop in temperature by two to three degrees Celsius.
