UP Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rainfall alert in eight districts of Uttar Pradesh, while a heatwave alert has been issued for 37 others. The Lucknow division of the IMD has said that very light to light rainfall at isolated places is very likely in eight districts of the eastern part of the state.

Rainfall in these districts

-Siddharth Nagar
-Balrampur
-Gorakhpur
-Deoria
-Kushinagar
-Maharajganj

According to the IMD, very light to light rainfall means rain measuring up to 15.5 mm, and the very likely prediction means the possibility of rain is between 50-75 per cent.

Heatwave alert in 37 districts

The IMD has also forecast a heatwave alert in these 37 districts:

Farrukhabad, Etah, Mahamayanagar, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Faridabad, Mainpuri, Kanshinagar, Kannauj, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Auraiya, Jauan, Unnao, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur, Raebareli, Amethi, Pratapagrh, Sultanpur, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Balia, Sonbhadra, and Mirzapur.

UP Weather observed

On Friday, Banda recorded a maximum temperature of 46.2 degrees Celsius, which is the highest in India. Besides, many other areas of the state saw the temperature touch 45 degrees Celsius on Friday. Over a dozen districts in the eastern part of the state sizzled under a heatwave on Friday. As per the IMD, severe heat conditions will continue in the state till Sunday.

In Lucknow, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.1 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius. IN a major change in weather conditions in the state, night temperature also remained above normal at most places, and in many districts it was between 25-30 degrees Celsius, giving some relief to the residents.
