UP Woman Arrested After Attempting To Kill Husband By Slitting His Throat While He Was Asleep

A woman allegedly attempted to murder her husband by cutting his throat with a sharp weapon at their home following a domestic quarrel in the Kotwali police station jurisdiction of Shamli district on Sunday, according to police.

Authorities have registered a case and arrested the accused, identified as Sumaiya. Police reports stated that Sumaiya, who lives in Manihara Mohalla, tried to kill her husband, Khurshid, by slitting his throat while he was asleep.

Kotwali police station SHO Virendra Kasana informed reporters that the injured man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment.

The SHO also confirmed that the weapon used in the attack was recovered from Sumaiya. According to the police complaint, Sumaiya and Khurshid have been married for eight years, but tensions between them arose over time.

Both individuals are reportedly in their 30s, police added.
