A 17-year-old tribal girl was gangraped by 10 men in Jharkhand's Godda district when she went out to excrete, quoting police, news agency PTI reported on Sunday. The horrific incident took place in the Sunder Pahadi police station area on Friday. Eight accused have been arrested in connection with the case so far.
The minor girl went to her relative’s place to attend a wedding, where she went out of the house to answer nature’s call when she was grabbed by a man, and a piece a cloth was stuffed in her mouth. The man took her to a seclude place and then she was allegedly raped by 10 men, the victim told to the police.
According to the family, a Panchayat meeting was held on Saturday to sweep the matter under the rug.

According to the news agency report, the victim has been sent for medical examination.
"The victim's family lodged an FIR against 10 people on Sunday. Eight people have been arrested. Search is on for the remaining two accused," Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar said.
In a similar incident in Odisha’s Ganjam district, two teenage girls were reportedly abducted from a wedding ceremony and gang-raped by four men. The girls, aged 14 and 15, were later found abandoned in a remote area. All four accused were arrested while attempting to flee to Visakhapatnam.
The victims' families stated in their complaint that the girls were attending a wedding when they were taken by the accused.
