The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced that the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2025 will be conducted on September 6 and 7. The exam will take place in two shifts each day — the first from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
This year, a total of 25.32 lakh candidates have registered for the examination, which serves as a preliminary screening for recruitment to various Group 'C' posts in government departments. Candidates who qualify in the PET will be eligible to appear in the main recruitment examinations conducted by the commission from time to time.
The PET score will remain valid for three years, eliminating the need for candidates to retake the exam for each recruitment cycle. The objective-type exam will be based on the syllabus already published on the UPSSSC's official website.
While the minimum qualification required for PET is a high school pass, the exam has also attracted a large number of graduates, postgraduates, and PhD holders. In comparison, last year’s PET saw 37.58 lakh applicants, out of which 25.12 lakh appeared for the exam.
The commission will release the admit cards and the list of examination centres in due course on its website. Candidates are advised to regularly check for updates. Notably, this time, CBSE and ICSE schools will also be used as examination centres, following approval from the state’s Personnel Department.
