Ganga Expressway Update: The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has announced plans to build a 74.3-kilometre link expressway to connect the Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway. This new route will also link the Ganga Expressway to the Noida International Airport.

To facilitate this, the Yamuna Authority has completed the survey and is preparing to acquire land across 56 villages. The land acquisition process is scheduled to begin in January 2026, Jagran.com reported.

Link Expressway To Connect Ganga-Yamuna Expressway

The UPEIDA is set to build a key link expressway directly connecting the Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway.

- The link expressway will start at kilometre 44.3 on the Ganga Expressway, located in the Siyana area of Bulandshahr and connect to kilometre 24.8 of the Yamuna Expressway, near Sector 21 Film City.

- According to Jagran.com report, approximately 20 kilometres of this link fall within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) jurisdiction.

- Nine kilometres of the link expressway will be constructed as an elevated section, and a separate service road will be built alongside the expressway to ensure smooth movement for local residents.

Land Acquisition For Link Expressway

The 4000 crore link expressway, connecting the Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway, will be constructed by UPEIDA on land acquired from 56 villages. The land falls primarily within Bulandshahr (48 villages), including 14 villages in Khurja tehsil, with the rest across Siyana, Shikarpur, and Bulandshahr tehsils. Additionally, eight villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar are included in the acquisition plan.

The Yamuna Authority will purchase the land and hand it over to the UPEIDA. The land acquisition process is set to begin in January 2026, Jagran.com report added.

Key Benefits Of The Link Expressway

Once the Ganga Expressway, connecting Meerut to Prayagraj, is connected to the Yamuna Expressway via the link expressway, it will ensure crucial connectivity to the Noida International Airport, Agra, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

The link expressway will offer direct access to the Yamuna City's industrial sectors, including Sector 28, 29, 32 and 33, ensuring smooth movement of cargo vehicles heading to the airport or any other linked national route.

Furthermore, authorities are exploring the possibility of linking the new expressway to National Highway (NH) 34. However, a final action plan for this extension has not yet been formalised.
