According to the officials, the house was built by encroaching on the village community's land. Several notices were issued to Sabroz, but the structure was not removed, prompting a demolition drive by the officials. CO Raghavendra Pratap said, "The construction was found illegal, and under police supervision, bulldozer action was carried out by the administration."
What Is The Chhangur Baba Case?
Sabroz is the nephew of Chhangur Baba alias Jalaluddin, who is accused of operating a large-scale religious conversion racket. Chhangur Baba lured people with financial inducements, marriage offers, job opportunities and pressure tactics and forced them to convert to Islam. Chhangur Baba’s operations were exposed during an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of two sisters from Agra, leading to the unearthing of his large-scale network spread across six states. Investigation suggests potential Baba’s links to foreign countries, including Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Turkey. The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has taken Jalaluddin and his aide Neetu alias Nasreen into custody for further investigation.
The demolition of Jalaluddin’s nephew's illegal property is a part of Yogi Adityanath’s government policy to target properties acquired through illegal means. Officials said that Chhangur's residence stood on nearly one acre of land that had been encroached upon.
These actions aim to financially and psychologically weaken those involved in such crimes,” an official said.
