Maharajganj SIR Campaign: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for updating the voter list has picked up pace across Maharajganj district. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are carrying out door-to-door visits in all assembly constituencies to distribute verification forms and guide voters through the process. Forms have already reached the homes of lakhs of voters and the uploading of filled forms is being monitored regularly.

According to a Jagran.com report District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma is supervising the campaign closely. He has directed officials to ensure that the distribution, verification and uploading of forms is carried out without negligence. Along with BLOs posted at each polling booth for the district’s 19,92,459 voters, a team of supervisors is also working on the ground. These supervisors are responsible for collecting updates from BLOs and sending them to the control room for continuous monitoring.

Dedicated staff have been assigned to track the status of online form submissions. Officials have issued a clear warning that if any voter is found submitting forms at more than one location, an FIR will be filed.

Additional District Magistrate Dr Prashant Kumar also stated that no lapse in the SIR process will be tolerated.

Clarification On Names Missing From 2003 Voter List

A number of voters in Maharajganj are confused about the relevance of the 2003 voter list. The administration has clarified that a person’s name will not be deleted from the voter list merely because it did not appear in the 2003 record.

All eligible voters must fill out the SIR form, even if their names were not present in the 2003 list. After the provisional list is published, such voters will receive a notice asking them to submit one of the approved documents for verification. Based on these documents, their names will be retained in the updated voter list.
