Four members of a family died by suicide in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, said police. According to them, the incident took place on the third floor of a guest house in Devnathpura.
The extreme step is thought to be motivated by a financial problem. According to police, an initial investigation revealed that the four family members, the man, his wife, and their two sons, were found hanging.
The family was scheduled to leave the guest house on Wednesday after arriving in Varanasi on Sunday. When they did not open the door today, one of the housekeeping staff members crept in and discovered the four members hanging.
Police officers arrived at the scene, broke down the door, and took the bodies into custody after learning of the incident.
Additionally, a Telugu suicide note mentioning a financial dispute between the family and someone in Andhra Pradesh was discovered by the police.
In another incident, shock ignited on Wednesday in the Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, Railways colony following the reported murder of a doctor employed by the Railways, who then killed himself and his two children.
