On the initiative of the Municipal Corporation, the Jal Nigam has submitted a proposal to the government for laying new sewer pipelines in 18 old wards, which has now received approval.
To address the issue of sewer overflow and contaminated drinking water, the corporation has also decided to install new drinking water pipelines alongside the sewer system. This dual project aims to provide a long-term solution to water contamination and drainage problems in these areas.
Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari has directed the Jal Nigam to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by April 22. Additionally, instructions have been issued to commence water supply from new overhead tanks by April 5 to ensure improved access to clean drinking water.
