In a shocking and bizarre episode from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district, a man was allegedly beaten by his wife and her relatives simply because he didn’t bring home samosas. The incident, caught on camera, has since gone viral on social media and led to an attempt to murder case being filed against the accused.

According to the police, Shivam, a resident of Anandpur village, tied the knot with Sangeeta earlier this year. Things took a violent turn on August 30, when, as per a complaint filed by Shivam’s mother, his wife had asked him to bring samosas, a request he failed to fulfill.

Infuriated by this, Sangeeta reportedly called her family to her in-laws’ house the next day, August 31, and even summoned a local panchayat. What followed was a chaotic confrontation during which Shivam and his family were allegedly attacked by Sangeeta’s relatives.

A video from the scene has surfaced and is now widely circulating online. It shows both families embroiled in a violent clash, with shouts and screams echoing in the background as a few bystanders try to de-escalate the situation.

Following the assault, Shivam’s mother, Vijay Kumari, lodged a formal complaint with the police against Sangeeta and her family members. "On the basis of the complaint lodged by Vijay Kumari, mother of the victim, an FIR has been registered today against four accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including attempt to murder," Circle Officer (CO) Puranpur Prateek Dahiya told PTI.
