Maharashtra News: In the follow-up to the discovery of a severed head of a woman in a slaughterhouse in Bhiwani City, the Maharashtra police have nabbed the main suspect, identified as Taha Mohammed. The victim has been identified as Taha’s wife, Muskan.
However, according to sources quoted by NDTV, the exact motives of the murder are still not clear as the culprit continues to change his statements. The incident came to the limelight after Muskan’s mother, Hanifa Khan, filed a complaint of a missing person with the police.
Bhoiwada Police Station senior inspector Ashok Ratanparkhi, who is investigating the incident, said that the police started the investigation after Hanifa claimed that her daughter’s phone had been switched off for the last 2 days, while her son-in-law's phone had gone unanswered before she filed the complaint at Bhoiwada.
What Was The Incident?
The severed head of Muskan Mohammed Taha was found near the Idgah Road slum and slaughterhouse area on August 30. Subsequently, the police rounded up her husband, Taha, in connection with the murder.
During the course of the investigation, Taha told police that he killed his wife and cut her body into 17 pieces and later dumped the body parts across the city. So far, the police have only found the severed head. Search operations are going on to locate the remaining body parts.
The police are trying to corroborate the statements of the accused so that a proper line of reasoning can be established. Two Special Investigation Teams (SITs) have been formed under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Police and the Assistant Commissioner of Police to probe the case.
