Vindhya Expressway: In a major boost to the connectivity of Uttar Pradesh, the state government has approved another expressway project. The Vindhya Expressway will be 320 kilometres long and connect Mirzapur to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. It will be built at a cost of Rs 22,400 crore, as per reports. The Vindhya Expressway will not only enhance connectivity in the region but also give a push to tourism. It shall be a six-lane expressway.

Vindhya Expressway Routes

The Vindhya Expressway will help in social and economic development of Uttar Pradesh. It will pass through various districts. It will connect Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli and Sonbhadra, as per reports. This will not only boost development in Mirzapur and a few selected areas, but it will be a good route for the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.

In another update, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has agreed to conduct a survey for extending the Ganga Expressway to Haridwar via Muzaffarnagar. The decision was made following a request from Muzaffarnagar MLA and state minister Kapil Dev Agarwal. Currently, the Ganga Expressway is under construction from Prayagraj to Meerut.

Kapil Dev Agarwal shared that during a Cabinet meeting held at Triveni Tirth on the occasion of the Mahaumbh 2025, CM Yogi made several key decisions for better connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. The meeting provided in-principle approval for the construction of the Vindhya Expressway, which will span 320 kilometers, and the Vindhya-Eastern UP Link Expressway, which will be 100 kilometres long.
