The Yamuna Authority, which is planning to develop New Agra along the lines of Chandigarh, may approve the master plan in its upcoming board meeting. The School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in Delhi has reviewed the New Agra master plan and sent it back to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) with its suggestions. YEIDA will soon hold a meeting to discuss SPA's suggestions.
In addition to YEIDA officials, representatives from SPA, the company that created the master plan, and the Agra administration will also attend this meeting. The final master plan will be sent to the board for approval. Fifty-eight villages in the Agra district are notified under the Yamuna Authority.

The authority has prepared a master plan to develop the city of New Agra on 12,000 hectares of land from these villages. Urban infrastructure will be developed in New Agra to accommodate 1.46 million people. It is estimated that the development of tourism, industrial, and commercial facilities will create 850,000 jobs.
As per the board's instructions, the master plan was sent to SPA for review. SPA has submitted its suggestions to YEIDA. Officials say that the suggestions received from SPA are being studied. Due to its protected area status, SPA has given suggestions emphasising eco-friendly industries, along with recommendations regarding traffic and green space.
YEIDA's ACE CEO Shailendra Bhatia said that a meeting will be held soon to discuss incorporating SPA's suggestions into the master plan. Officials from SPA, the company that created the master plan, YEIDA, and the Agra administration will participate in this meeting.
Practical suggestions will be included in the master plan, and it will be finalised. After receiving approval from the board, the master plan will be sent to the government.
