Ahead of World Yoga Day on June 21, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to hold yoga programs at the Mandal level across Uttar Pradesh, aiming to spread the message of ‘Yoga se Nirog’ (Disease-free through Yoga) among the masses. The party will also involve its various departments and cells in conducting yoga camps and awareness activities.
Addressing a review meeting at the BJP state headquarters on Sunday, State General Secretary (Organisation) Dharampal Singh emphasised the need for thorough and innovative preparations. He directed party members to ensure active public participation, particularly through outreach to professionals, workers, teachers, doctors, advocates, entrepreneurs, artists, and spiritual groups.
Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made yoga a global cultural symbol, and it was now the party's responsibility to uphold and extend that legacy within every community. “Our goal should be to make sure that the health message of yoga reaches every citizen,” he added.
He also called for programs that reflect local relevance and innovation, ensuring that yoga activities resonate at the grassroots level.
