The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) is continuously taking concrete steps towards making the capital city of Dehradun a green, clean, and citizen-friendly city. Realising Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's resolution for green development, the authority has initiated the construction and renovation of two major parks in the Raipur assembly constituency.
Approximately Rs 90,00,000 will be spent on these two projects. On Sunday, Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ laid the foundation stone for the proposed park near the community hall in MDDA Colony, Chander Road, Dalanwala, within the Raipur assembly constituency. The construction of the park will provide residents with greenery, a clean environment, and better public facilities. This park will become a centre for health, recreation, and social activities for children, young people, and senior citizens.
Modern facilities, including walking paths, green belts, and seating arrangements, will be developed in the park so that people of all age groups can benefit from it. MDDA officials stated that the park in Nehru Colony, within the Raipur assembly constituency, has already been fully developed. In this park, footpaths have been constructed, extensive tree planting has been carried out, a stage has been built, painting work has been done, and high-quality grass has been laid on the ground.
Along with beautification, the park has also been improved from an environmental perspective to promote green cover in the urban area. During the foundation stone laying ceremony, MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, development and environmental conservation are progressing side by side in Uttarakhand. In urban areas, parks not only enhance beauty but also play a significant role in the health and social life of citizens. These works being carried out by the MDDA will further enhance the identity of the Raipur assembly constituency.

In the coming years, these parks will prove to be a strong foundation for urban greenery. Special attention is being paid to quality, transparency, and timeliness in the construction and renovation of the parks.
