Police have arrested one person in connection with the murder of a young woman from Premnagar, whose body was discovered in a forest on Monday. The arrested individual, Lokendra alias Raja, allegedly helped the main suspect dispose of the body. A manhunt is currently underway for the prime suspect, Vishal, who is the victim's brother.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh, the main accused brutally murdered his sister while intoxicated.

Discovery And Investigation

The case began on Monday morning when the body of Vishakha, 22, was found inside a plastic sack in a forest near Pitambarpur Mazar in Vasant Vihar. After registering a case based on a complaint from the victim's cousin, police began investigating.

The crucial breakthrough came from CCTV footage near Vishakha's home. The footage, from the late hours of September 21-22, showed two individuals on a motorcycle carrying a large white sack. Police identified the men as the victim's brother, Vishal, and his tenant, Raja.

Accomplice's Confession

Police took Raja into custody for questioning, during which he confessed to his role. Raja stated that on Sunday night, an intoxicated Vishal got into a quarrel with his sister. At around 1 am, Vishal came to Raja's room and led him to where Vishakha was lying dead on the floor with her hands and feet tied.

Vishal admitted to assaulting her and asked Raja for help in disposing of the body. The two then put her body in a plastic sack, transported it to the T-State forest on a motorcycle, and threw it into a pit before returning home.
