Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday inaugurated several key initiatives aimed at strengthening urban development across Uttarakhand at Mukhya Sevak Sadan.

The CM launched 115 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across 52 urban local bodies, inaugurated 15,600 new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), and flagged off a registration drive for street vendors as part of Angikar 2.0. Additionally, 244 new vehicles for solid waste management were deployed in various towns.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhami highlighted that these schemes would enhance healthcare services, provide housing for the urban poor, promote livelihoods for street vendors, and improve sanitation and waste management in urban areas. He stated that these initiatives would set benchmarks for urban local bodies in the country and contribute to better cleanliness and civic standards.

The CM also emphasised the role of programs like Amrit Yojana in strengthening urban infrastructure, including water supply, sewerage, and green spaces, and praised the Smart City Mission for integrating technology with civic amenities to model ideal urban development. He added that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, thousands of poor families have received permanent homes, while Swachh Bharat Mission efforts continue to enhance solid waste management and sanitation systems across the state.

Dhami reiterated that with guidance from the Prime Minister, the state government remains committed to improving the standard of living and delivering the benefits of welfare schemes such as the Smart City Mission, PM SVANidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Amrit Mission to all citizens of Uttarakhand.
