Aadhaar Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new fee structure for Aadhaar services, which will be effective from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2028. In addition to this, the UIDAI has planned further revisions in the fee structure of Aadhaar services for the period between October 1, 2028, and September 30, 2031.
This revision aims to improve the efficiency of Aadhaar services and promote timely updates.
especially for children and teenagers.
Revised Fee Structure For Aadhaar Services:
Under the new pricing, the standard fees for Aadhaar services will increase. The revised fee structure is as follows:
- Starting October 1, 2025, services previously costing Rs 50 will now cost Rs 75.
- Services that previously cost Rs 100 will now cost Rs 125.
- Additionally, a fee of Rs 75 will be raised to 90 from October 1, 2028.
- Similarly, Rs 125 services will go up to Rs 150.
Free Biometric Updates For Children And Teenagers
- Biometric update will remain free of cost for children aged 5-7 years and teenagers aged 15-17 years.
- Under the revised fee structure, biometric update will be free for children between 7 and 15 years until September 30, 2026.
- However, all other biometric updates will attract a fee of Rs 125.
“The Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) service is free of cost for children in the age groups of 5–7 years and 15–17 years. To reduce the MBU backlog, the Authority has decided to waive charges for Aadhaar number holders in the 7–15 age group for a period of one year, until September 30, 2026,” UIDAI’s circular dated September 29 read.
Revised Fee Structure For Demographic Changes And Document Updates
- According to the revised structure, demographic updates, such as changes related to name, gender, date of birth, address, or contact details, will remain free when carried out with biometric updates.
- However, if done separately, these demographic updates will now cost Rs 30, an increase from the previous Rs 50.
- Additionally, updates to the identity and address documents through the myAadhaar portal will remain free until June 14, 2026.
- For updates at Aadhaar enrolment centres, the fee has been revised from Rs 50 to Rs 75.

Home Enrolment Service Charges
- For home enrolment services, UIDAI charges Rs 700 (inclusive of GST) in addition to the applicable standard update fees.
- According to a report by the Economic Times, if multiple residents at the same address opt for the service, the first individual is charged Rs 700, while each additional resident pays a reduced fee of Rs 350.
