Uttarakhand Tourism is promoting winter travel by highlighting three trekking routes as the state’s “Trek of the Year” for 2025-26. The selected routes include Chinap Ghati in Chamoli, Gulabi Kantha in Uttarkashi, and Bankatiya Glacier in Pithoragarh.
Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal said the initiative aims to offer tourists a new experience while boosting winter tourism in the state. Campaigns along these routes will run from September 2025 to March 2026.

Registered tour operators will receive an incentive of Rs 2,000 per trekker as part of the scheme.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has previously emphasised exploring trekking and adventure potential in the high Himalayan regions, and this initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to attract tourists to Uttarakhand’s scenic valleys.
