A significant milestone was marked at the Kumaon Regiment Centre (KRC) headquarters as 603 Agniveer recruits of the sixth batch formally joined the Indian Army on Tuesday. After completing 31 weeks of intensive training, the recruits marched through the historic Bahadurgarh Gate, symbolising their induction into the force and their commitment to national service.
The passing out parade, held at the iconic Somnath Ground, was reviewed by KRC Commandant Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Yadav, with Deputy Commandant Colonel Prabhu Ramdas also present.

Brigadier Yadav, while addressing the new soldiers, said that serving the nation as a soldier is a privilege granted only to the fortunate. He encouraged the Agniveers to uphold and elevate the honour of the Kumaon Regiment wherever they are posted.
During the ceremony, the newly inducted Agniveers took the ‘Antim Pag’ (Final Step) and pledged to safeguard the honour, pride, and glory of the nation, vowing to sacrifice everything for Maa Bharti if necessary. Religious teachers of the Army (Dharmgurus) administered the oath using holy scriptures.
The parade showcased the discipline, vigour, and passion instilled in the recruits over nearly seven months of rigorous training, serving as an inspiration for other young aspirants. Proud family members, including parents, siblings, and relatives, witnessed the moment of honour as the Agniveers became part of the Indian Army.
